2002 Malibu Response Manufacturer Original Description: "Open bow the 2002 Response Series was designed with competitive level performance in mind.

Built on the award-winning SV23 Diamond hull, the Response series is recognized as the worlds finest performing slalom boat.

The appearance of the Response been pumped with newly design in-the-mold four-color gel coat graphics and new drip-molded Malibu side decals.

Inside, the Response has been fitted with a durable space age floor that dampens sound and supports a new sleek, low profile motor box.

Humming beneath that dome the standard 310hp Vortec engine swiftly pushes the Response through the course.

Malibus IRT (Instantaneous Response Technology) system enables precision handling and pinpoint turning of this dynamic boat, which will thrill drivers.

Malibus aptly named Response series is living up to its world-class reputation again this year.

We are 3rd owner.

Owned 10 years.

Well maintained by us, always trailered while we owned it.

Can proovide all maintence records for last 10 years.

Hull is nice and white.

Per previous owners in Colorado and Maine, the boat was only used in fresh water.

It has the original Chevy V8 350 cubic inch engine which runss great.

Very powerful engine.

Not sure of exact hours boat has been run but think it is about 375.

We only used about 8 times a year for a few hours due to short boating season in Colorado, preceding intermediate owner in Colorado hardly used.

Boat is currently winterized in a shrink rap cover so can not verify hours.

It will be summrized around end of May and can verify hours and take more photos.

Some of vinyl upholstery is stained and scratched, but none is torn.

Carpet has some light stains but is otherwisee good shape.

Some chips in paint on aluminum frame on windshield but operable section to access bow works well.

Distinct squeeking noise when in reverse but fairly quiet when in drive.

Dillon Marina, local repair shop, thinks it is bearing at the Cutlas bracket supporting shafft/propeller.

Alternatively it could be at bearing wher shaft goes through hull or at end of tranmission.

Repair shop does not think it has to be fixeed immediatly but in next year or so.

We removed the cruise control feature but still have parts as it seemed to be causing changes in acceleration when in manual mode.

Speodomiter and tacometer occasionally have intermittent malfunction but then startes working again. plastic cover/lense on guages iis a bit scratched/hair line cracked.

Original owner hit a rock with propeler and first fin under boat and had a repair made to the fin/shaft/seal through hull.

There was a slow leak at shaft bearing through hull which was repaired by us Tommy's in Denver.

There still seems to bee a very slow leak but it has been a non issue since we trailer boat.

Bilge pump runs occassionally when using boat in water for extended period of time.

There is an approximate 2.5" chip in hull infront of first fin - see photos.

Maybe from banging on trailer wheen putting boat on it.

Trasiler is original and has emergeency braking system if trailer disconnects from car but not active braking.

Have title for trailer and it is curreentlly registred in Colorado.

Lights work.

Tires replaced in 2012 and have limited mileage on them, but one tire has some cracks in tread area of tire.

Spare never used so would be good to switch spar with tire with cracks.

Colorado does not title boats, so do not have a title for it.

This is a non issue if keeping in Colorado or other states that do not title boats.

If bringing to a state wich require title, a replacement title can likely easily be obtained in your state typically with a Hull Id # inspection check and by filling out form and submitting bill of sale from us.

In general boat is in good shape for a 21 year old boat, but it does havee some cosmetic issue and some mechanical issues as noted above.

Very economical though compared to current boat prices and with some work and a few thousand dollars of repairs it would likely be a nice boat for many more years.

We really enjoyed it, but want to get a newer surf boat so are selling it.
